The Vision Fitness S7100HRT is a sturdy, front-drive elliptical cross trainer that focuses more on the machine, rather than all the shiny extras found on other elliptical trainers. This elliptical bike has 20 pre-programmed workouts to choose from, including manual, intervals, fat burn, random, watts, the trademarked Sprint 8, glute burn, summit hike and target heart rate.
You can also adjust the incline of the pedals up to 37 degrees and choose from 20 resistance levels to add or reduce the challenge of your workout. You can change the resistance and incline on the fly as you are exercising. These features compare well against the best elliptical trainers and are more than enough to help you get the results you want. This machine allows you to store up to five individual user profiles, which is great if you have multiple people in your home plan to exercise. You can also set a different program for a five-day workout routine if you are the only one using it.
You can track your progress on the blue, backlit LCD console display. As you exercise, you can see the distance covered, your speed and an estimate of calories burned. You can also check your heart rate by holding the sensors on the stationary handlebars. The results are displayed on the screen. You can get an even more accurate reading by purchasing a chest strap heart monitor and synchronizing it to monitor without having to let go of the moving handles.
Like the best elliptical trainers, you can adjust the stride length. This machine’s stride ranges from 20 to 21.5 inches, which can be an enormous help depending on how tall you are and how long your stride is.
The flywheel on this cross-trainer weighs 23 pounds, an average weight for front-drive elliptical bikes. The machine is 5 feet long, 2 1/2 feet wide and stands nearly 5 1/2 feet. It weighs 240 pounds. Someone as heavy as 325 pounds can get on and start working out without worry.
You can make your exercise session more enjoyable by using the machine’s reading rack to hold your favorite novel, and if you are brave, your tablet. Stay hydrated by keeping a bottle of water in the built-in holder. However, this elliptical does not come with any way to play music over speakers.
You get a lifetime warranty for the S7100HRT's frame, a five-year warranty on parts and a two-year labor warranty. This is a standard warranty length compared with our other ranked elliptical machines. Vision Fitness provides support by email or by phone if you need assistance with assembly or finding a replacement part. You can also download the owner's manual and access answers to frequently asked questions on the product webpage.
You can use any number of the health-building workouts with this durable and multifaceted elliptical trainer. Its many features should keep you from ever getting bored with your exercise sessions. If you like variety and the ability to store multiple user profiles, the Vision Fitness S7100HRT elliptical deserves your consideration.
